Brief Summary:

Assist physical therapist and physical therapist assistants with daily tasks, patient appointment scheduling, registration paperwork for each patient’s appointment, appointment reminder calls, helping to keep equipment and department clean, stocking supplies and linens, keeping temperature logs and other tasks as appropriate/needed. Some limited interaction in assisting with direct patient care with supervision of therapists.

Essential functions:

• Assists therapist and patients with a variety task. i.e. making copies of exercise programs, scheduling appointments, answer phones, call patient for appointment reminder.
• Verify insurance and interact with billing department as needed. Attend educational in-services that relate to billing.
• Monitor, restock, re-order inventories of lines, medical and office supplies daily or as needed.
• Use of office supplies equipment, clerical tasks. Daily cleaning of exercise equipment and other equipment, sweeping floor, cleaning toys, hot pack machine, etc. as needed/scheduled.
• Assist in setting up/cleaning patient treatment rooms as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Some Health Care work experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

• CPR Certification

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of confidentiality requirements regarding medical records; ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Proficient skills in the use of computers; able to enter and retrieve data; and able to use word-processing program for correspondence and reports. Applications used: Microsoft Word (word processing software), Moonwalk (patient scheduling) and RPMS (Health Information System).
• Proficient in the following office skills: Records information management, keyboarding, and customer assistance.
